You do not even need to write blanks to the shift registers.

Simply de-assert the OE pins.

I would be a lot happier if the OP understood the purpose of segment resistors.
I suspect that this is a purely imaginary project that uses Proteus.

The simplest solution is to imagine everything works perfectly.
