This is a very big question.

You need to study examples of programming.There are lots of books available for that.You can also take help of some search engines like google.

Programming can't be learned by sending posts.You should learn it from your college or from private instituion.Because they have the syllabus to teach such things.I personnally believe this is not the right place for the same.

From first observation of your post I conclude following things.

(1)You should initialise timer properly.
(2)Give debounce to the keys.
