I don't agree. Being able to understand the efficiency of the compiler and how language constructs maps to processor instructions gives you options when writing C/C++ code. out of context. yes, for an "efficiency analysis" it is good to "understand the efficiency" but for (as the context was) writing C code for the '51 it is not.
