That's why it's hard to write instructionally bad code. You never know what to make wrong. Everyone who doesn't know better starts out with some standard mistakes, e.g. liberal use of magic numbers and such. Even if you can't predict some of the more exotic mistakes that some of the students will make, there are many, many standard mistakes that need to be ironed out in almost every case.
