#177938 - Environment...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Erik / Per,

Interesting observations. Probably summed up in this :

the project works well in a controlled environment.

Out there in real world its a chaotic jungle where every single thing that CAN go wrong WILL go wrong.

A classic case : The code, we think is final, good and capable of trapping of all possible human errors. All set for wrapping up. We ask the client to press "S" for start and the next thing you have on screen is a dirty "Run Time error message " as the client accidentally pressed "D" which was not what the code expected. The programmer (me?) had simply not factored this accidental key press ( at this point atleast ); and hence did not supress the Menu routine; and the code took "D" for delete ; and failed miserably as there was nothing to delete when waiting to start.

The client of course was not very amused.
