There are plenty of applications where it is useful to have RAM not cleared by reset

However, I can not visualize any design with partially cleared RAM that can not be made with the non-cleared RAM as a block/blocks which would a be dead easy modification of (your local copy of) startup.a51. Non-cleared RAM, of course is a breeze.
