This is the latest chip from their stable. The best part is that, this saves I/Os and money. We use 3500 chip in 2 cards, and the our cost will come down by 35 percent if we use the new chip. Plus, Interfacing issues are already taken care of. It took us some time to tune the interface with read/write delays, and these details were not clear from the data sheets. Even though we had no one to clarify these stuff, we found out things by fiddling around and it was not difficult. And the new chip also will solve the TCP state issue in 3500, which according to them can only be solved by resetting the channel to UDP and then changing it back to TCP.(We can easily reproduce this error by loading the TCP channel with a test software). Not sure how easy it would be to port our 8051F340 code to this core. They are also developing a WIFI chip. Their chips are very useful in terms of cost/effort reduction, except that, you will have to figure out lot of things by yourself, which we learned after calling them many times - including both Korean and Hongkong support centres. |
