eg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-domain_reflectometer Other ways Can you measure the cable impedance , DC resistance? Google cable impedance and cable resistance. Can you get access to both ends of the cable? NOTE These are "real world" measurements... and you will probably need a 80c51 and a good ADC. You should work out your theories (prove them) 1st before starting any design hardware. Joe |
