Please considor following points. 1. OP says MAX232 IC. 2. The perticular IC (acc. to TI datasheet) available in 3 packages PDIP(N), SOIC(D or DW), & SOP(NS) 3. Pin assignments for above types is same (acc. to datasheet) Hence this is an exceptional case, to the theory you have mensioned. Regards, Mahesh. |
