So, you send a series of ASCII bytes to the cmucam2 and receive one byte which tells you whether the stepper motor is to be moved forward or backward? IF "ACK", then forward, if "NCK" then backward? How much do you move the stepper then? One phase, one revolution (4 phases) or continuously until a new acknowledge arrives?
