#190025 - Selecting the right MCB |
I have to select a MCB for a SMPS input side which is AC 230V.( Output is 24V dc @ 10A ) The data sheet for the SMPS reads " AC Current 1.4A operating and Cold Start Inrush 45A "
And in actual trials I have had MCBs rated for 2A / C type, trip when the SMPS is switched ON, particularly when the DC side load is connected at the time of switch ON. So what would be the guideline to choose the right MCB ? ( Since the variation between normal operating current and Inrush current is so large ) Or should I simply migrate to the 2A / D type MCB which has a larger trip current setting? Any help is welcome. Thanks Raghu |
