You need to work with position to position gearing or camming.
With a loosely coupled scheme you will experience slip which is a cumulative error in one direction or the other. This will make pieces not stay the same length. They could vary from piece to piece or get progressively shorter or longer. Electronic gearing or cam type operation solves this problem nicely. Michael Karas |
