There is still progress. And I don't believe the majority of progress is from people aged 60+.

Somehow, despite you denying it, this world still have lots and lots and lots of skilled people that are 20 or 30 or 40 years old.

There has not happened any strange mutation that have suddenly made people stupid. And people who get out of school will pick up experience and become just as skilled as people who came out of the school system 10 or 50 years ago.

Right now, millions of people one or two generations younger than you are busy building a new world. They are not less skilled just because you don't happen to like the differences between their and your dream world. Their dreams represents a progression. To stay would represent stagnation. Even when it's hard to decide a course, there must still always be progression or the end result will be a big failure. Societies always dies if progression is allowed to stop. The power and wealth will always be moved to people (individuals or countries) that are willing to run with the ball.

If you don't like to participate in the match, just sit at the side and watch it. But don't ignore it. Because the game will run with no respect to people who don't want to participate.

The only thing that remains is that biological progress is slow, so it's basically the same wetware that is active now as it was 50 years ago. Just with a different set of loaded applications. The aim is different based on different starting seed.
