It is possible to purchase this cable at Mouser for 26USD.
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDe...52bw%3d%3d I see that it can be configured for JTAG, I2C and SPI. If you buy it make sure you pick the correct version. One version supports 5V signalling and the other works at 3.3V. The cable can even supply some power out one of the wires. They say current up to 200mA at either voltage. The cable is based on the FT232H chip. This chip contains an EEPROM that holds configuration information including the USB VID and PID which can be changed if needed for custom applications.
