You need to specify a whole lot more before you can elicit comments on your sketch. Some of the things that are missing so far are:
a) Voltage of battery b) Current capacity (or ampere hour rating) of the battery. c) Impedance of the load box. d) Current rating of the charger box. e) Voltage output of the charger box. e) Part number of the proposed FET (and data sheet if it is some obscure part). f) Values for the two components tied into the Gate of the FET.
