#182412 - The cap renders the supply monitor ineffective! Responding to: ???'s previous message |

it's been a while so I do not remeber anything except there were documented cases where removing the capacitor eliminated flash loss. Anyone interested is welcome to search the SILabs forum. The cap at the reset pin acts as part of a hardware debouncer, providing a 100msec timeout period also when the reset button is released. Unfortunately, this cap slows down the supply reset coming from the supply monitor, because it needs some time to discharge this cap, especially if it is in the microfarad range. This discharging time might be enough to make the micro run ill and destroy parts of its code memory for a brief period. Kai Klaas |
