You're right, of course. As the load current increases, the ripple from the filtered source increases. For a larger output current, as you suggest, one must provide a larger filter cap.
RE It is easy to make that mistake, since we are not used to seeing multiple division operators in sequence. And as developers, we also know that most processors are faster with multiply than division, so we always try to rewrite our formulas when we can replace a division with a multiplication. |
