I would not parallel two MAX232 outputs even of trying to isolate them by resistors. RS232 bus lines are designed with specific imput impedances at the receiver to make them work correctly and you completely destroy the signal integrity of the lines by adding resistors like this in the K ohms range.

You would be far better off putting two receivers at the input that accept the signals from the two driver devices at the other end of the cables. Then add MUX type logic at the output of these receivers that you control to select which device you are receiving from.
