I fully agree with Erik as NI is no small company to simply brush aside. Have been using thier hardware and LabVIEW software for the past 6 years and I am one happy engineer. They have a product to suit every budget and each card is so well designed that it can handle abuse so nicely that in all these years I never have had a failed card. Not that I sit and device methods to fry cards !

Even in this case there is absolutley no problem when used in the actual control panel with the output driving 24V relays. These typically have a pull-in voltage of 18V and thus 4V "low" is no issue at all.
