I tried to use it on my old(couple of years) machine which runs XP and almost any modern flavour of Linux. After installing everything, I could not install the existing printers that came with a XP install CD. So, if you're trying to upgrade an existing system, cross check over and over before you dig in. A new machine pre-loaded with Win7 might just work correctly, but, darn it if you have to add an existing peripheral to it that is not win7 compatible.
