#175483 - Quite good Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Windows 7 is quite nice, but some hardware are missing 64-bit drivers yet.
The thing I hate most with Win7 is that it sorts the windows when you do alt-tab - only keeping a fiew top items in their LRU order and then having the rest of the application windows in alphabetic order :( The Keil MDK-ARM IDE/compiler works well. I haven't had time to test with a ULINK yet. I think the driver to a dual RS232 card has an issue - after I added it, I have seen a couple of graphics driver restarts. The interface freezes for 1-2 seconds. Then the monitor goes black for a second and then all windows repaint and a balloon message says that the graphics driver has done something silly and been restarted. I didn't see this error before I added the serial card. I have been using XP for many years and on many machines, totally ignoring the horrid Vista. The name Windows 7 must indicate that Microsoft considers Vista a damaged product name requiring them to restart focusing on the Windows base name. |
