What Gantt or Pert charts don't show is that you can't just split a task in two, do something else in the middle, and then expect the rest of original task to take take the same time as if it had not been interrupted.
There is an interuption penalty as you get "back up to speed" with the interrupted task. If there are too many interruptions, you never actually get up to speed at all! management 101 declares all the above as falsehoods :( Erik |
