We had a classic today which cause me to swear slightly, we used to have our cameras running all the time processor, image sensor, power supply and they disipated about 30 Watts which does not sound a lot but kept them at a fairly high temperature, especialy in the extruded ally cases. So our new cameras which use all the best power saving techniques and clever techniques to power down the procesor and FPGA when there is nothing worth looking at so the power consumption is down to 3-4 Watts on average, only trouble is our American support office had a call from New york saying the cameras are now so cold that the sun hoods fill with snow in bad weather, Duh!!!!!!!!
