Yes. That is why I normally don't use it, for technical books, since the number of titles in existence is quite low.

Another thing is that some titles are released by different publishers (obviously using different ISBN) depending on market. Besides the original hard-cover edition, there may be one publisher giving out a pocket edition for UK and another publisher for USA. And then we get all the translations, which may sometimes be based on an old edition, and in other situations contain errata fixes never released in the original language.
