#169358 - Earthquake sensors with X-Y accelerator
Hai All

Recently at Sumatra Island(west of my region) Indonesia get earthquake strike.

In the past 2006,I'm designed very low cost earthquake sensor with X-Y accelerometer(MCS-51).
Some suggested that the accelerometer didn't suitable for Earthquake sensors.

Then at the beginning of 2008/end of 2007 there's Laptop/notebook for networked earthquake sensor(I forget the branded).

I'm stopped the prototypes cause freescale suddenly stopped free sample for that x-y accelerometer(6 US$ for each envelope)...poor experimenter.

Someone experiment with MCS-51 for networked earthquake sensor?

I'm used RTC,AT89S52,MMA62xx and RS-422 to PC at serial port and possibility added GPS at PC.....PC to Network.

Thank's
Jeckson Ben
