#150709 - make vs. batch Responding to: ???'s previous message |
After shunning make for years and using batch files, I made a resolution this year to learn make. After half an hour of experimentation and reading the documentation (which is actually quite good), I'm converted! Some of the make files automatically generated by IDEs can be obtuse, but then they aren't necessarily intended to be human readable.
One make file can contain the rules for as many targets as you like, and it can include rules to make multiple targets. It can refer to multiple files using one reference, which makes maintenance much easier than batch files. |
