... how a Philips appnote (that has been used by many in the past for PC keyboard interface design) ended up at that website. However it has disappeared from NXP/philips so no offense.

What I mean is, "Has anyone, themselves, actually done this?"
if you do a search here on an434, an 434 and an-434 you will find some threads about this.

When I needed it last I e-mailed Philips support and they sent it to me as an attachment.

The thing about appnote code always has been that it is excellent for reference, but always need a good looking over. I do not know of any manufacturer where I have found flawless appnote code.
