If you buy an armored car and put your uC inside it, you can park the armored car right next to the heavy Industrial DC motor.
If you have your PCB in open air, you may have to move it a mile away from the heavy Industrial DC motor. everything is a compromise I am curious "DC motor" and "CT" which I read as "current transformer". How are you going to get a current transformer to transform DC? anyhow, I suggest you have a look at this FAQ http://www.8052.com/faqs.phtml?FAQ=119926 Erik Split ferrite core hall effect clamping current probe (in exact terms) . I have read http://www.8052.com/faqs.phtml?FAQ=119926 but what if you are in the middle of the noise :) , I have chances to deploy the uC section away though , but would like to know if there be any complications if the uC is adjacent to the sensing circuitery , If anyone has hands on in this type of project.
