#147492 - Ultrasound Data Link |
I've got this idea (top secret, I'm afraid) about using ultrasound as a carrier for a data link.
It would be just very simple commands/responses to "ping" (no pun intended) between units. A bit like remote controls, really. But I'm hoping ultrasound will be better at going round corners than IR. Remembering that old remote controls did used to use ultrasonics, I tried searching on that - but the only info seemed to be just detecting the presence or absence of a carrier (which was why jingling keys could upset them). Searching for things like "ultrasonic data transmission" tends to give loads of stuff about handling the data from medical ultrasound scanners - rather than using ultrasound to transmit data! So, can anyone give any hints or tips on good terms & keywords for this search..? Thanks. PS Of course, if anyone does have complete source code for my unspecified requirement, that would be great...! ;-) |
