... as I pointed out, tracking cellphones is regulated (by law) and controlled (to get the data, a member of police/secret police has to ask for a *** (lack of term but I am sure you know what I mean) from a judge, then go to the operator's management and finally get a techie from the operator; and then write a report which can be recalled by a parliamentary commitee - too many people involved to abuse easily).
I am just not convinced the data from tracking nameplates (which AFAIK we don't have here so far but this can - and most probably will - change rapidly) are placed under a similar scrutiny. And, I would really like to see a practice in doing so in the established democracies prior it drifts into our (less stable) region. JW |
