#144755 - I don't buy the "poor" kit ruse Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What was the saying, "a poor workman always blames his tools". I'm not buying the ruse about poor/old/faulty kit being used and that's the reason for the gimme code.
When I was doing my degree about 12-13 years ago, the micro's in use were 6802 (D2 kit ?) and later 68k boards. I found the 6802 boards a pain, and access was limited, so what did I do, had a look at what was involved, obtained a few datasheets, some components, and some sripboard, and built my own 6802 board with a CPU, ROM, RAM, and a 6821 PIA, and used that with a assembler running on my PC (a 386sx remember those ?) to do all my course work, worked a treat and taught me much more than the course would have done. I loaded my code using a erom emulator I also built, but I could have easily used a monitor program in eprom, and added a 6850 ACIA (which I did later on) and used a terminal program on the PC. To sum it up learnt a great deal, got the course work done, and it did not cost very much. Rich |
