As I read it, they are not selling the readers, but using them to support their own consulting.
I find it ironic that they are trying to protect their code that is used to steal other's code. Ultimately, embedded code can be read. I think it is a good idea to incorporate proprietary silicon on the board that is required for system operation. This can be a programmed CPLD or an ASIC. It just makes it that much harder for a system to be reverse engineered. |
