I think Mike was referring to number of posts displayed in a long thread, rather than the number of threads displayed on the main forum page. This can be cut down ("Max. messages to list within thread "), but only in flat mode (in traditional mode maybe the "beginning" of the "tree" could be hidden beyond a click, although that might be tricky to implement smartly...) However, item #2 in my initial post of this thread would address easily this one, too. Also, on a similar note, the main forum page could display only threads having new messages. Of course I have no idea how much work would be needed for this one (and I am afraid, the answer is "substantially more than I can afford"... ) JW |
