The reference measurements of all the modern packages (i.e. not DIP and PLCC) are given in (milli)metres, indicating the same in inches/mils only imformally, for your convenience.

Even the House of Lords is not what it used to be in times of Sir Isaac Newton... :-)

Sorry, I am just kidding. No, seriously, I know it is nearly impossible to switch for those who used the imperial units for years, but I wonder, which units will the next generation of engineers over there use?

PS. Did you know that most of the ICs (and more importantly, connectors) produced in the then USSR had the pin spacing of 2.5 mm?
