#135796 - RE: Snubber Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The triac is rated at 4 amp 600V and I do have a snubber on the output. I don't have a varister, but plan on adding one. The fuse is a 3 amp fuse and I think I could go lower, but I don't think it will help, it's just not fast enough.
Actually this is not a big problem that I deal with all the time, it's just as I think back when I've had to do the repair, it's always both that get replaced. I've noticed this problem with my X10 light switches, when the bulb goes, so does the switch. Also with a thermostat control that uses a quadrac, if the element shorts out, it takes the controller with it. I was just curious about a possible "cost effective" solution and maybe someone had another idea. Thanks Jon |
