#135684 - Body Temperature
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Mr. Fahrenheit thought that body temperature was 100 F.

There is considerable misunderstanding about the accuracy implied in 98.6F.

98.6F = 37C.

When doctors tried to determine what the normal temperature was, they found it varied from person to person. They rounded the average to 37C.

36.5C to 37.5C corresponds to 97.7F to 99.5, all of which is perfectly normal.

But there have been untold numbers of mothers here in America who have become most distraught and taken their babies to the doctor with temperatures of 99.0F
