It's my understanding they did. The problem is actually quite a bit older than that, just not in the digital sense. I'm told Bell telephone had to deal with the Y1.9K problem. But I've never heard any specifics. Before too long, we're going to need 64 bit time_t and some other structure to go with it to correct for reletivistic shifts. :-) |
