89c2051 is doing nothing.

The paralleled port lines, what level do they emit then, all the time? High or low?

I think it's waiting for the correct bit stream on it receive port. Till that happens nothing will happen.

Help me a bit, I'm not at all familiar with this CFT2200 stuff. What shall happen, if the right sequence has once arrived?

Kai

Hi Kai:

What should happen if the 89c2051 see's the correct bit stream is the mcu should send a bit stream back to cable company. But as I said I just like see the mcu send something to light a led on serial
port to show it actually turned the mcu on. The cft2200 units do not exit any more and cable companies now use explorer 2000,3000 and 4000 boxes. Like said in the begining I like see mcu send out something to light led on pin 13 output of 89c2051 which is internally tied to p3.6. Right now their is no output.

Pins 12 and 13 have 1 k resistor across them and not sure I engineer would do that either see schematic picture.

I am also wondering why a diode D1 1n4148 is doing seating on top of p13 negative side of internal comparator?

Like said to all members this circuit some puzzle. You gentlemen are always having contest on puzzles, well this is my contribution for puzzles may best engineer win.

Rich E., Erik, Jez go for it my best guy win or anyone else.

If any one figures out how to turn the chip on I will post digital picture on site with flashing led or scope pattern.

Best reguards,

Ralph Sack
