... ive been trying to figure out what the (deleted) his project actualy does ... I would suggest that if you turn his project on and it doesn't do anything, then you have your answer. And that may have something to do with his leaving. My only real advise is that you diligently remain cognizant of the fact that trying to reengineer bad engineering can quickly cost more than just starting over from scratch.
