But isn't that exactly what happens when you run a 16-bit MS-DOS application on NT, XP, et al anyhow?
And isn't that exactly why we get problems such as the OP is reporting?

Of course, it must be worth a try - but I don't think one can just assume that it will be the answer to every old-DOS-on-new-OS problem...
