I always tell 'em I'm not going to use their part in production until there's a firm approved datasheet that they'll support.
I don't mean it, of course, because they're often a real mess. You'd expect they'd have gotten around to a formerly major part like this, though. I'm presently trying to straighten out the datasheet and user manual for the Dallas DS89C4x0 series. I've found a number of probably what one should call "minor" mistakes. They didn't even describe how their Mode 0 serial port works, in light of the single cycle instruction set. The only detailed description I've ever seen applies only to the 12-clockers, and this is a one-clocker. I'm interested in finding out when the Rx and Tx interrupts occur, and when the corresponding status bits become valid. That will be interesting. RE |
