#119860 - IMPORTANT FOR TESTS |
Hello. If you check the site for my nick... you'll see that I have posted two times (three with this one).
On both times I also posted the solution to my problem and the I thought about something. 8052.com is a great site with a lot of answers but it lacks of a newbie section. I'm not talking about tutorials or manuals... As many people, I like to develope averything for a project, from HW to SW but there is always a BIG question: Where the "$%@#~ยท%=/ is the problem?? It's 3:00 in the morning. Is the problem in the hardware I built? Is the problem in the software I made? So I think that it would be very VERY good to the site and comunity if administrators add a section of TESTING CODES. I'll explain: Both of my posts were because I made new HW but nothing worked. If software gurus can publish easy, cheap and nice code to test, hardware problems will be evident. For example: Block flashing on LCD (If you can see it, your LCD is well configured) Not an example where you can see the key pressed on the 4x4 keyboard because you'll need to undertand how keyboard works, how to get ascii, how LCD works, etc. No. Just only 10 instructions to understand how it works or why it doesn't work. Sending a character to PC (If you can see it, your serial comm is well configured) Flashing Led (If it flashes, your port is well configured) I mean, easy code that works and will show HW problems. These codes will not answer the tasks of every one but at least will give a base to start you endevour. What do you think? |
