They use a relatively small number of calibrated tuning forks and tune the keys for which there is no fork by listening to the combined sound of the fork and the struck wire and counting the beat (intermodulation?). I can only assume that the same principals would apply throughout the audio spectrum. I just was wondering if the resulting 3 kHz tone would be loud enough. |
