#116976 - there there's my basement ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I think the full count of microcomputers in my basement helped the Denver area become the one, in the survey held about 15 years ago, the metro area with the largest number of microcomputers per capita.
If you count all the single-chippers in my basement, there were about 40,000 in my basement, and then, of course, the ones in the PC's upstairs ... of which there were 30+ at the time because I was testing *nix versions ... My microwave oven has 3 ... my stereo system has 3 in the receiver, two in the CD player, each of my old SCSI disk drives has 5, not counting the DSP, and I have about 80 drives lying about, though they're not all of the type I mentioned, my cars each have a handful, and there's one that controls the ceiling fan in my bedroom. My washing machine has none, nor does my dryer. However, there's a spare microwave oven in the basement ... identical to the one over my stove. Despite all that ... I suspect you're going to have to pay up. RE |
