It means that you'll be much better off buying the identical part, which is still available through several outlets, since you just want to repair an already-existing product.

www.octopart.com, more precisely, http://octopart.com/parts/search?q=AD574A, where you'll see several pin-compatibles, albeit not cheap ones, if you have any trouble finding a vendor. There are plenty of them. You won't like the price, but, after all, it will save you a lot of effort as opposed to redesigning and remanufacturing the board and developing and debugging the associated firmware, and you only have to pay the price this one time. Presumably, you'll be able to pass the parts cost on to whoever your customer is.
