Nevertheless, I've had to use the "steam-driven" techniques because of constraints imposed by the age of the system on which I was working. Nonetheless, it's been readily "doable" applying a 256k x 16 FRAM and interfacing 16-bit peripherals to the 8-bit 805x, as a simple consequence of reading the datasheet.
If all the O/P wants is more memory, and more ports, reading the datasheet is adequate, but he can buy a part that has more code space, if that's what he needs, and on-chip XRAM, if that's what he wants, and more ports. It's just a bit more money, and perhaps it's not HIS money, so he probably doesn't care. RE |
