More ports than what ? How much 'NV RAM' ?

NV Ram is also probably not what you mean - do you want EEPROM, DataFLASH, or battery backed SRAM ?

You can get Serial EEPROM in small packages, as well as Serial SPI RAM, or there is FRAM if you need fast write turnaround.
