It's good if a solution is "simple and cheap". But it's even better if the solution reliably works. Then it may even cost a bit more.

If a solution is only "simple and cheap" but does not work reliably then you might loose your last customer and you can look for a new job.

So, first, I would look for a solution that reliably works...
