#182724 - "Hacking" an LED Display |
Hi all,
I recently purchased a "tricolor" (1 Red 1 Green) 7x50 LED display from a third-party distributor (who can't answer my question). It uses "Moving Sign 3.92" software to download pictures and programs via 232 serial port. I want to use this display for another application, so I've figured out the command protocol that "Moving Sign" uses to communicate, and can now program the sign without their software. Unfortunately, their software doesn't have an option to "open" a file, since they expect you to use the IR remote to do this. The IR signal gets processed by a CPLD before the data is handled by the processor, so I can't use my "serial sniffing" method this time. Any suggestions? Processor: SyncMOS SM89516A Software: Moving Sign V3.92 |
