it may help to find the differences. Note also that different technology used for the two chips might highlight weeknesses in your hardware. For example, the oscillator circuit (crystal) might be more sensitive to the exact value of loading capacitors as well as to the inductance (i.e. length) of traces between the respective pins on the mcu and the xtal. Similarly, the 'S' chip might be more sensitive to inperfections in the supply voltage, i.e. position and amount of decoupling capacitance and length and layout of supply traces. I agree with Andy in all respects. Even if you don't want/can't post code (which might or might not help anyway), you should at least describe in detail how exactly the device "fails". JW |
